A Firm Foundation – Day 9: Love the Stranger
Date: Monday, October 13, 2025
Leviticus 19:33–34 (NIV)
Reflection
From the earliest days, God instructed His people to treat the foreigner as one of their own, remembering that they too were once strangers in Egypt. Radical welcome is rooted in God’s character—He embraces the outsider and makes room at His table.
When we welcome the stranger, we reflect God’s compassion and proclaim the gospel in action. Our hospitality becomes a living testimony of the God who first welcomed us.
Reflection Prompts
How does remembering your own need for God’s grace help you welcome others?
Who might God be calling you to embrace as “your neighbor” this week?
Discussion Questions
Why does God remind Israel of their history in this command?
What does it mean to love the stranger “as yourself”?
How can we practice this in our daily lives?
Closing Prayer
Welcoming God, remind us of Your mercy when we were far from You. Shape our hearts to love the stranger as ourselves, so that Your kingdom may be seen in us. Amen.
