A Firm Foundation – Day 8: Radically Welcome
Date: Sunday, October 12, 2025
Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV); Matthew 22:1–10 (NIV)
Reflection
God’s people were called to seek the peace and prosperity of the city where they lived—even in exile. Jeremiah urged Israel not to withdraw, but to bless and build community wherever God placed them. In the New Testament, Jesus tells a parable of a king who invited all people, from every walk of life, to the wedding feast. This picture of radical welcome reveals God’s heart: His kingdom is open, His invitation wide, His table expansive.
As the church, we reflect God’s hospitality when we embrace others—neighbors, strangers, and even those who seem far from faith. Radical welcome is not just about greeting people at the door; it’s about creating a community where all belong, are loved, and find purpose in Christ.

God of all nations, You welcome us into Your presence through Christ. Open our hearts to extend that same welcome to others. Help us to create spaces of love, belonging, and community where all may know Your grace. Amen.
