A Firm Foundation – Day 4: Children—A Heritage from the Lord
Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Psalm 127:3–5 (NIV)
Reflection
The psalmist calls children a heritage from the Lord, a reward entrusted to us. Just as arrows must be carefully shaped and guided, so too must the next generation be formed in faith. Raising children in the Lord is both a blessing and a responsibility.
When we invest in children and youth, we align with God’s heart for His people. Generosity toward them—through time, teaching, and encouragement—strengthens the church’s future and honors God’s gift.
Reflection Prompts
How do you see children as part of the “heritage of the Lord”?
In what ways can you help shape the “arrows” entrusted to the church?
Discussion Questions
Why do you think the Bible describes children as a “heritage”?
What role should the whole church play in nurturing children’s faith?
How can we encourage and equip parents in this work?
Closing Prayer
Generous God, we thank You for the gift of children and young people in our lives and church. Help us guide them in Your ways so they may be strong and faithful in their generation. Amen.
