A Firm Foundation – Day 29: Pledging Our Commitment
Date: Sunday, November 2, 2025
Haggai 1:2–8 (NIV); Ephesians 4:11–16, 29 (NIV)
Reflection
In Haggai’s day, God’s people were called to rebuild His house, yet many were focused only on their own concerns. Through the prophet, God reminded them that His work must come first. Commitment to God’s house is not just about bricks and mortar—it’s about realigning our hearts to God’s priorities.
Paul reminds the church in Ephesus that each member is gifted to build up the body of Christ. Commitment to God, to Christ, and to one another creates a community that grows in unity, maturity, and love. Our pledges—of time, talent, and treasure—become living testimonies of our devotion to God’s work among us.
