A Firm Foundation – Day 13: Lydia’s Open Home
Date: Friday, October 17, 2025
Acts 16:13–15 (NIV)
Reflection
Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth, responded to the gospel and immediately opened her home to Paul and his companions. Hospitality became her first act of faith, a tangible expression of her new life in Christ.
When the gospel takes root in us, it overflows in welcome. Like Lydia, we can use our homes, resources, and relationships to further God’s work and nurture His people.
Reflection Prompts
How has God used your home or resources for His kingdom?
What might it look like to be “a Lydia” in your context?
Discussion Questions
Why was Lydia’s hospitality a significant response to the gospel?
How can our homes become places of ministry?
What does this passage teach us about the link between faith and welcome?
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for Lydia’s example of faith and hospitality. May our homes be open and our lives be ready to serve, so that others may encounter Your love. Amen.
