A Firm Foundation – Day 12: Invite the Unrepaid
Date: Thursday, October 16, 2025
Luke 14:12–14 (NIV)
Reflection
Jesus challenged His followers to invite those who could never repay them: the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. True hospitality is not about social gain, but about reflecting God’s generous love.
When we extend welcome to those on the margins, we mirror Christ, who welcomed us when we had nothing to offer. This is radical hospitality—generosity that expects nothing in return.
Reflection Prompts
Who in your community may feel excluded or unseen?
How can you extend hospitality without expecting repayment?
Discussion Questions
Why does Jesus emphasize welcoming those who cannot repay?
How does this teaching challenge our natural instincts?
What blessings come from practicing selfless hospitality?
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, You welcomed us freely and fully. Help us to extend that same welcome to those overlooked or forgotten, so that Your kingdom may be revealed among us. Amen.
